EDUCATOR

As well as conducting numerous school and community youth ensembles, David has variously worked as specialist tutor for piano, percussion, and especially for music theory and musicianship. He is also a qualified classroom music teacher and is currently teaching at St Catherine's School, Sydney.

Every year David writes, presents and conducts multiple orchestral concerts designed for kids of all ages, whether they are 'Meet the Orchestra' concerts in schools, or any one of the various community Kids Concerts he has led for young children. These have included the ever popular Kiddies Cushion Concerts at Campbelltown Arts Centre, the Toddler Proms supported by the Australian Decorative and Fine Arts Society at Camden, as well as the recently inaugurated Kids Concerts in the Hills Shire and Hornsby organised by Northern Sydney Youth Orchestras.

David's published work includes years of program notes for Sydney Conservatorium of Music concerts: he authored most Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra concerts from 2002 to 2004, an additional Masterpiece Concert October in 2003, as well as for a production of Haydn’s opera La Fedelta Premiata in 2005.

He was later hired to write program notes for the Conservatorium's 2008 Beijing Olympic Year Tour.

He has also presented pre-concert talks for the Ku-Ring-Gai Philharmonic Orchestra in 2008, as well as the Sydney Symphony Contemporary Music Festival in 2002.
